When and where

Joel Haver posted his animated short on his YouTube channel (nearly 1.7 million subscribers) in July 2022. SNL's live-action 'Charmin Bears' aired in the season 48 premiere in early October 2022, about three months later.

What followed

Haver posted a video titled "SNL stole my video" that called the overlap "pretty alarming," but he decided it was probably subconscious or a coincidence and not malicious. A source close to SNL told People it was parallel thinking.
